5. Tips from "Ref" Rich

Here is this week's input:

There are several Q&As on the FTC Forum regarding Ball Tube strategies that involve guiding the tube to prevent tipping.  I highly recommend reading these posts carefully.  If it appears that a guide is made that will contact the tube portion of the rolling goal with the intent of arresting or preventing tipping in any way, that guide may trigger the <GS8> penalty if contact is made with the tube.

Hope your week has been good!

Submit Ref questions to and Rich will answer all he can in the weekly ARIZONA FTC BLAST

6.Judges Corner

Talk technical to me.

The judges want to hear about your programming process, mechanical parts, how you manufactured any custom parts, ect. We like the glint a student gets in their eye when they start talking excitedly about gear ratios. Do keep jargon usage to a minimum, you can not assume everyone knows your acronyms. Also if you used any specialized software, such as PTC, please tell us what you did.
